Penn's Ragone keeps Quakers undefeated | Philadelphia Inquirer | 2011-10-29
The versatile quarterback is as deadly with his arm as he is with his legs.
"It's something that they have to game plan for," said Ragone. "Any way you can make a big play, move the chains, is huge. Make plays with your feet, keep drives alive. It's frustrating from the defensive standpoint, I'm sure."
And this season, the quarterback has led the Quakers to several wild finishes, erasing fourth-quarter leads as Penn chases an unprecedented third straight undefeated Ivy League season.
Last week, Penn rallied in the fourth quarter to knock off visiting Yale. It was the third time this season that an Ivy League opponent saw its fourth-quarter lead disappear against the Quakers.
Penn travels to Brown on Saturday in search of its 19th straight Ivy League victory.
"It seems like we've been winning ugly the last few weeks," said Ragone. "But a win's a win."
It was in the small central Connecticut town of Cheshire where that attitude was born. Ragone, the scrappy quarterback for Cheshire High, seemed to do everything for the Rams: He threw for touchdowns, ran for some more, kicked field goals and extra points, played defense, and converted two-point tries.
