What a sweet tooth you have
A week past his first birthday, Collin Quinn wasn’t entirely sure why his mother dressed up in a bright red cape Monday.
But he was old enough to understand the real meaning of Halloween. “He knows he gets candy,” said his mother, Desirae Quinn, aka Little Red Riding Hood.
Collin also knew about his own costume, which involved a painted nose and whiskers and fuzzy black paws. He was the Big Bag Wolf.
“Grrrr,” he said softly as he was lifted from his stroller. “Grrrr.”
“He was howling earlier,” his mother said.
The costumed Quinns were among hundreds of trick-or-treaters who crowded Third Street Monday afternoon for the annual Safe & Sane Halloween event. McMinnville Downtown Association and area businesses sponsor the popular tradition.
This year, in addition to businesses handing out candy, the afternoon featured games on the US Bank Plaza, hayrides provided by Heiser Farms and coffee and hot chocolate served by The Salvation Army.
