Getting your spook on doesn't have to mean spending a whole pumpkin full of cash. Some events for individuals and families around the Wilmington area this year are either free or cost less than $10.
One of the first opportunities for lots of scare at a low price comes Friday with the beginning of the Battleship North Carolina 's Ghost Ship sessions. For $10 per person, visitors can experience a haunted ship from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, or at the same times Oct. 21-22.
The Fantini family of Wilmington plans to go to the Carolina Beach Halloween Carnival this year, scheduled for 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at Mike Chappell Park, with a rain date and location of Oct. 30 inside the Carolina Beach Recreation Center. Car seat—You’re going to need this as soon as you leave the hospital. Infants use rear-facing seats and are always placed in the back seat. This is because air bags that deploy in the front seat are extremely harmful, and in some cases, even fatal to young children. When choosing a car seat, don’t look at how cute or chic it is. Instead, focus on whether it has passed government safety standards.
